How Churches Can Use the New Apple “Clips” App

Tuesday, March 27th, Apple announced their new app, Clips, that will be dropping sometime in April. Here at echurch, we are extremely excited about the Apple Clips app. Why, you ask? Because it’s all about streamlining the process of creating compelling content and sharing it with the world.

What is Clips?

The Apple Clips app is an all-new app that is compatible with iPhone 5s (or later), iPad Pro, iPad (5th generation), iPad Air (or later), iPad mini 2 or later, and iPod touch (6th generation) and requires iOS 10.3 (or later). It will work seamlessly with major platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.

What does it do?

Clips is a video app with integrated video editing features, filters, stickers, music tracks, and (my personal favorite) the text overlay feature. The crazy part of the text overlay feature is it generates the text for you through voice recognition—no typing necessary! This will decrease the time you spend editing the video before sharing!

So, what does the Apple Clips app mean for the church?

This could be a great asset for the church’s social accounts. Video can be an intimidating medium for a lot people who don’t identify as a “creative,” but Apple may have just leveled the playing field. This app will help your church share upcoming events or basic announcements like a pro. The exciting part is it will be here just in time to for you to refresh you content for summer! Utilize Clips to capture the best clips from your church!

Stay tuned for more info on Clips once we get our hands on it!
